It all started in 2014 when…

Matt was meeting with a friend and brainstormed ways to generate passive income. One idea that popped into Matt’s head was investing in real-estate. While he wasn’t right about it being very passive, he was right about it being a great business opportunity.

Since then Matt has participated in dozens of real-estate transactions, taken hundreds of hours of courses, attended dozens of classes, seminars, and conferences, read countless books, and currently working on his Masters in Real-Estate Development at Auburn University to deepen his understanding of the industry to better inform his decisions leading the company.

Benton Investment Group started by investing in small single-family homes and condos in distressed condition, repositioning these properties, then owning and operating them. Since then we have followed the same model as we have expanded into new markets, segments, and product types. Additionally, we have expanded into ground up development utilizing the build to rent model.
